Festival fun of LKF Carnival 2011

Brazil’s Rio Carnival may be the most well known of all global carnival celebrations, but here in Hong Kong the king of the street parties is still the Lan Kwai Fong Carnival.

LKF Carnival 2011 is coming to Lan Kwai Fong again this November, bringing a weekend filled with exotic costumes, live performances and delicious street side snacking! Taking place over Saturday & Sunday, 12th & 13th November, Lan Kwai Fong Carnival 2011 will mark the 10th anniversary of the annual fete, and it promises to be as big as ever.

An International Flavour

It wouldn’t be a street party without snacks, right? And Lan Kwai Fong Carnival 2011 is a tantalising array of global cuisine, where hungry carnival-goers can tuck into everything from Japanese skewers to French crepes - attractively priced from as little as $20! Blue Smoke Bar-B-Que will be touting the best of the USA’s ‘Southern hospitality’ with Buffalo Wings, Pulled Pork Sandwiches and Smoked Spare Ribs, while brownies and New York Cheesecake from Azure Restaurant slash Bar may prove irresistible for those with a sweet tooth.

Not wanting to overlook Hong Kong’s own proud tradition of street-side snacking, you can count on finding a taste of HK’s no-frills ‘cha chaan teng’ cooking at Tsui Wah’s food and drink stall. Curry Fish Balls and Crispy Buns served w/ Sweet Condensed Milk amongst their tasty local treats on the menu. When you’re done why not wash it down with a refreshing Milk Tea ‘Champagne.’

During Carnival weekend, Wo On Lane will be decked out and turned into ‘Toys “R” Us Kids’ Street,’ complete with a bouncy castle and over 20 interactive game booths. Dancing, mascot parades and magic shows will ensure that your kids are kept busy all day long.
